When most people think of dog grooming, they picture nail trims, baths, and a good brushing. In some cases, a little scissor work on the side. And yes, that’s part of it. But grooming is so much more.
It’s health maintenance. It’s communication. It’s nervous system care. It’s an act of love.
In my 18 years of grooming, I’ve learned to read a dog’s body like a language—how they carry tension, where they hold fear, and how they soften with trust. Grooming isn’t about forcing compliance. It’s about listening with your hands. And when done with gentleness and presence, something shifts: grooming becomes a co-regulated experience, not just a task.
At Gentle Touch Grooming, I aim for more than a tidy coat. I aim for a calmer dog, a deepened bond, and an experience that your pup learns to feel safe in. Because to me, that’s the heart of the work.
